Why should you contribute to the Friends of the NRA?
What does the NRA do for You and Your Club?

I have recently been informed that the Friends of the NRA have awarded the HF&G Junior program a $9000.00 grant for 2011.
I should note that our grant allocation has increased in each of the last five years. 2006 - $3000, 2007 - $3500, 2008 – $4500, 2009 - $6100, 2010 -- $9000!
In 2008 this money was used to purchase 6 new rifles (received), and 2 new shotguns (on order).
We also use the money to cut the price of skeet/trap by 50% for the junior division.
We have also reduced the cost of rifle ammo, and offered to provided free ammo and instruction to scout troops, the PPS youth mentoring program and the PPD explorer program.
The junior division had also offered to introduce club members to skeet & trap at cost on Friday evenings.
I can assure you that our youth and instructional programs were highlighted prominently in our pitch for the political support that we courted during our 2007 – 2008 negotiations with the city for our continued use of the property on which our club’s ranges are situated.
These programs were used to demonstrate our value to the community.
In an effort to stave off any future attempts at shutting us down, and to bring increased attention to all that we have to offer, I have reached out to the local civic associations and offered introductory instruction to their respective groups. This activity could also be funded with this grant money.
The dinner on Tuesday 3/29/11 at Cannstatter's 9130 Academy Rd. was a great success. Please come join us at what we hope will be a bigger and better event in 2011!
